A creative nerd who co-founded some music events
- Co-founder & Director of Educational, Governmental and Overseas Partnership at Fungjai
- Co-founder of Bangkok Music City, and AXEAN Festival
Piyapong “Py” Muenprasertdee is a co-founder of Fungjai, a pioneering music platform and community that has supported Thailand’s non-mainstream music scene since 2014. He also co-founded Bangkok Music City (BMC), Thailand’s first international music conference and showcase festival (2019), and AXEAN Festival, Southeast Asia’s first region-focused music conference and showcase event (2020). Through these initiatives, Py has helped build regional ecosystems that expand visibility, mobility, and real opportunities for artists and music professionals across Southeast Asia.
With a foundation in sustainability and climate change consultancy at ERM-Siam, Py brings a systems-thinking, long-term impact mindset to the music and creative industries. He has authored multiple research papers for Thai government agencies on music and creative economy development, and has served on Thailand’s National Soft Power Strategy Committee (Sub-committee on Music), contributing to policies and programs that strengthen cultural exports and the creative economy.
Beyond industry building, Py teaches sustainability at the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII) and regularly guest lectures on creative innovation, and pitching using storytelling techniques—helping the next generation turn ideas into ventures that actually survive the real world.
